Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Aviation Aptitude ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use aviationaptitude.com and app.aviationaptitude.com (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we receive your email address, display name and optional profile photo, processed through Google Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google Sign-In).
- Training data. Your test sessions, scores, play counts and diagnostic results are stored so your progress can sync across devices.
- Purchase information. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Polar (polar.sh). We receive your order details and billing email, never your card number.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics (via Firebase) to understand aggregate usage: screens visited, tests started and completed. This data is pseudonymous.
- Support messages. If you contact us through the in-app form or by email, we keep your message and email address to respond.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: accounts, progress sync, entitlements after purchase.
- To improve the Service through aggregated usage statistics.
- To respond to support requests.
- To meet legal obligations, including those of our payment provider.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing email without your consent.
3. Where your data lives
Account identity is managed by Google Firebase. Training records are stored on our servers (hosted in the EU) and mirrored locally in your browser for offline continuity. Support messages are stored in Google Firestore. Payment records are held by Polar.
4. Cookies and local storage
The app uses browser local storage for sign-in state, preferences and cached training data. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure usage across our sites.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@aviationaptitude.com; we will action the request within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR where applicable), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date.
